We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team in the automotive industry. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to utilize and develop your accounting skills in a complex, challenging, and rewarding environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a minimum of five years of experience, preferably in the automotive sector.
Responsibilities:
As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our finance department. These tasks include, but are not limited to:
1. Preparing and recording asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
2. Maintaining and balancing subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
3. Summarizing financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements.
4. Protecting organization's value by keeping information confidential.
5. Contributing to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
6. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, and maintaining compliance with these regulations.
7. Providing financial advice to the management by studying operational issues, applying financial principles and practices, and developing recommendations.
8. Preparing special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
2. A minimum of 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the automotive industry.
3. Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially in Excel.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
