About Our Staff Accountant Role:
Staff Accountants work within the Accounting Department and are responsible for monitoring and collecting data to assess accuracy and integrity; analyze data; ensure compliance with applicable standards, rules, regulations, and systems of internal control; interpret and evaluate results; prepare documentation; create financial reports; and applying the generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records. Additionally, the incumbent is also responsible for keeping Company financial data organized/updated, completing basic accounting-related tasks like maintaining records, preparing financial statements, financial reporting, budget preparation, and general bookkeeping for the Company.
Strategic Responsibilities:
• Fully understand and share a passion for the Company's core values, mission, and objectives.
• Provide leadership and management to ensure that the mission and core values of the Company are put into practice.
• Support the Controller in providing strategic recommendations to the members of the executive management team.
• Promote the day-to-day implementation of strategic business plans within the Accounting Department at the direction of the Controller and CFO.
• Partner with the Controller to implement and promote financial and tax strategies.
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance; or equivalent hands-on experience in performing high-level accounting.
- Accounting experience in the construction industry is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years in a financial/accounting role is required.
- Minimum of 5 years general ledger reconciliations experience is required.
- Proven experience in strong team building, developing strategies, streamlining processes, and implementing plans to solve problems and mitigate risk.
- Proficient with accounting software, word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 products, utilizing a PC, mobile devices, and company communication tools (e.g., email, internet, chat, etc.)
- Solid GAAP and financial reporting technical skills.
- Sage 300 CRE a plus.
- Must be able to receive instruction and supervision.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with overtime as required
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to remain in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods.
- Manual dexterity needed to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Work Environment:
- Primarily based in an office setting with a controlled climate.
