As a Staff Accountant II, you will be responsible for preparing income statements, balance sheets, statements of cash flow, consolidated financial reports and various other accounting statements and reports. Analyze financial reports and records, making recommendations relative to the accounting of assets, liabilities, revenues and expenditures. Prepare, reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records and account reconciliations. Determine and updates cost center requirements and rollup structures. Assist in the setup of processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, including deferred revenue, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices. Advise management in terms of financial reporting, tracking and performance.
How Will You Contribute to the Company's Success
- Prepares and maintains monthly recurring entries.
- Maintains complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with GAAP. Analyzes data used to record transactions, reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of financial statements.
- Performs routine financial and/or operational analyses and identifies emerging trends, including cash flows and forecasting / budgeting.
- Records and performs routine transactions such as journal entries, asset retirement and project setup.
- Analyzes account activity and seeks to explain significant and unusual balances for P&L and associated variances.
- Recognizes issues and reports them to more senior colleagues and/or manager.
Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience
- BA in Accounting or related field
- Prior accounting experience with a public company is preferred
