Contract-to-Hire opportunity in the Fulton Industrial Area!
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant II to join their team in the Fulton Industrial area of Atlanta. This is a hands-on role working closely with the Controller in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with month-end close, journal entries, account and bank reconciliations, balance sheets, and general ledger reconciliations. Key Responsibilities:
- Month-End Close: Perform month-end closing procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurate and reported in a timely manner.
- Account Reconciliations: Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Journal Entries: Prepare, review, and post journal entries for various accounting functions.
- Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial statements and balance sheets.
- QuickBooks Usage: Utilize QuickBooks extensively for accounting processes, including transaction recording, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Controller and other departments to support day-to-day accounting operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- 7+ years of relevant accounting experience (without a degree)
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience with a degree in Accounting or related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel (particularly VLOOKUPS; some experience with pivot tables is a plus).
- Hands-on experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheets, and month-end close procedures.
- Work Ethic: Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work with legacy manual systems and processes.
