Job DescriptionThe Accountant I is responsible for the maintenance and coordination of accounting books and records. Preparation, review, analysis, and presentation of various accounting processes -- inclusive of journal entry preparation, balance sheet reconciliation, and revenue & expense variance presentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares general ledger closing entries
- Reviews, analyzes, and presents financial statements
- Reconciles bank accounts
- Reconciles general ledger balance sheet accounts and maintains proper backup
- Exercises proper judgment and presents all findings with a game plan to resolve issues
- Assists and supports other staff members and other department managers as needed

Education and/or Experience
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field with a minimum of 1 to 3 years of accounting experience, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Accounting experience in the timeshare industry is preferred
- Proficient knowledge of Oracle database is preferred
- Proficiency in Excel and Word is required
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills written and oral
- Ability to work independently and in a group environment
