Staff Accountant (Hybrid) Los Angeles, CA at Defense Search

About Us: Join a prestigious design agency in Los Angeles, CA, as a full-time GL Staff Accountant. Our client offers a dynamic work environment with a blend of remote and in-office work.

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid Role: Work from Home on Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri / Onsite on Thursday)

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the general ledger and monthly close process, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures for both domestic and international divisions.

• Ensure the integrity of accounting information by accurately recording, verifying, and consolidating transactions.

• Prepare and record asset, liability, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.

• Maintain and balance general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, and reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.

• Prepare financial updates by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.

• Assist in the completion of audits by providing necessary support and explanations of accounting processes and transactions.

• Update cash flow forecasts, variance analysis, and other management reports.

• Implement financial controls and processes.

• Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.

• 4+ years of accounting experience.

• Familiarity with GAAP Audit.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/G Suite and mid-level ERP systems (WorkBook/Deltek).

• Experience with Netsuite/Oracle systems (system implementation experience is a plus).

• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookup, x-lookup, keyboard shortcuts, SumIF function, ability to create own formulas).

• Extensive GL experience (balance sheet reconciliations, fixed asset capitalization and management, including prepaid, fixed assets, ASC 842, ASC 606).

• Thorough knowledge of financial reporting requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• International tax compliance experience is a plus.

• System implementation experience is a plus.
