The Staff Accountant will assist in preparation of monthly financial statements, year-end audits, budgets, reconciliations and perform general accounting duties. They will prepare financial reports to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

 Create general ledger entries for deposit and income allocations, code and allocate expense items, complete payroll entries and bank reconciliations.

 Assist in preparing and analyzing month-end financials and year-end financials, identify budget variances, and margin discrepancies.

 Complete sales and meals tax preparation.

 Oversee cash management.

 Maintain 401k database to ensure accurate hire/term dates and hours of service. Work with payroll and/or human resources to adjust dates in the payroll system as warranted.

 Work collaboratively with payroll, accounting, and cash office staff.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Minimum 3 +years prior experience in accounting.

Working knowledge of general ledger and financial statements.

Detailed accounting and analytical skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel.
