Job Title: Staff Accountant
Location: East of Downtown, Houston, TX 77011
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (In-office)
Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000 depending on experience
Overview: We are on the lookout for a meticulous and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will work independently to manage key accounting functions and become the go-to expert for your areas of responsibility. This role demands a sharp eye for detail, strong critical thinking skills, and a passion for process enhancement.
Key Qualifications: Expertise in GAAP: Strong grasp of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
ERP Experience: Proficiency with Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Excel Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
Analytical Abilities: Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
Required Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a Staff Accountant.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
Bilingual (Spanish & English) is a huge PLUS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience in Accounts Payable is required
Industry experience preferred: Manufacturing, Industrial, Oil & Gas, or Construction
Responsibilities: Oversee and manage the fixed asset database; create monthly fixed asset and depreciation entries.
Support the accounting team with journal entries, account reconciliations, and accuracy reviews of financial transactions.
Collaborate with the Controller to review monthly financial statements, identify discrepancies, and provide detailed explanations.
Contribute to the improvement of accounting processes in partnership with the Controller.
Assist in preparing for the annual audit.
Provide support to the CFO and Controller on special projects.
