About the Job
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team! This position requires a detail-oriented finance professional who will provide accounting support for a high transaction and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing:
• Prepare journal entries, financial analyses, and month-end close process.
• Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Research differences and proactively ensure complete and timely resolution.
• Record cash receipts in a timely and accurate manner; access daily bank reports, complete daily and weekly cash reporting and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Process monthly credit card statements/invoices, ensuring adequate supporting documentation approval by management, general ledger coding (overhead/billable) and post in ERP in a timely manner.
• Create, maintain and issue various weekly and/or monthly Accounts Payable reports used to issue Subconsultant payments.
• Assist with monthly/quarterly sales and use tax preparation.
• Assist with the corporate premises and equipment lease database, update lease schedules in accordance with GAAP ASC842 monthly and prepare journal entry.
• Provides support as needed to internal and external auditors and examiners.
• Complete ad hoc reports as requested by Controller or other internal stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field required.
• 2+ years related experience in general ledger and financial reporting required.
• ERP experience required, BST Global preferred.
• Microsoft Office project suite experience required as well as knowledge of intermediate to advanced Excel functions.
• Ability to multi-task, critical thinking and problem-solving skills while maintaining an effective, positive relationship with team members.
• High attention to detail and level of accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
• Must demonstrate the highest standards of personal and professional integrity and character and promote ethical business behavior throughout the company.
