General Overview:
The corporate finance group plays a critical role in supporting multiple portfolio companies located across the country. As a partner to multiple companies, we are devoted to solving strategic and tactical challenges every day with best-in-class solutions.
Staff Accountant:
The primary directive of this position is to aid the Accounting Manager with accurate and timely financials in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The position will be responsible for completing the tactical day-to-day accounting functions, as well as assisting with the monthly close process. The position will be expected to assist with reporting requirements and other ad hoc corporate finance activities. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, have a strong technical background, and demonstrate Jones' core values (Integrity, Passion, Unity, Sustainability, and Humility).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform day-to-day accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts receivable, accounts payable, and certain treasury activities.
- Assist with the monthly close process, including the preparation of reconciliations, workpapers as well as recordation of daily journal entries and monthly accounting transactions.
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Assist with filing of year-end 1099s.
- Assist with certain month-end, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

- Ability to conduct technical analysis and research
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Accounting or Finance related field
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance
- Public accounting experience is preferred but not required
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred but not required
- Occasional travel may be required
- Work within established company guidelines
