About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong accrual accounting skills and will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting month-end close processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accrual-based accounting tasks, including recording revenue and expenses in the appropriate periods
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to GAAP
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial statements and reports for management review
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
- Participate in audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries
- Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-4 years of accounting experience, with a focus on accrual accounting
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
