Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Staff Accountant to join our client's dynamic team. This is a newly created role designed to support the company's growth and manage increased workload during their busy spring/summer season. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of accounting experience, a strong background in general ledger (GL) accounting, and proficiency in advanced Excel functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the preparation of internal financial statements.
• Oversee and maintain a robust internal control environment.
• Record and prepare journal entries to facilitate the monthly closing process.
• Perform financial analysis to offer insights that support strategic decision-making.
• Keep detailed reconciliations for assigned accounts up-to-date.
• Aid in the creation and documentation of accounting processes.
• Evaluate current accounting practices and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
• Collaborate with external auditors by providing required documentation and information.
• Assist with various special projects as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (ideal) - will accept other degrees with relevant experience
• 1-3 years of prior accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Experience with ERP systems
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a team player, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 per year + bonus
