We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the fast-paced world of finance, working alongside a dedicated team of professionals. In this position, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial health of our organization. This position requires a deep understanding of governmental accounting regulations, budgeting, tax preparation, and auditing. If you are an experienced, detail-oriented professional with a knack for analyzing financial data and creating insightful reports, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
2. Conduct regular audits, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
3. Prepare the annual budget, forecasting trends and anticipating future financial needs.
4. Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations.
5. Collaborate with other team members to streamline and improve financial processes and procedures.
6. Provide expert financial advice to management, aiding in strategic decision-making and planning.
7. Stay up-to-date with changes in governmental accounting regulations, ensuring the organization remains compliant.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
9. Assist in the preparation of reports for external audits and examinations.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by the management.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree will be a plus.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the finance industry.
3. Comprehensive knowledge of governmental accounting regulations.
4. Extensive experience in budgeting, tax preparation, and auditing.
5. Exceptional numerical proficiency and attention to detail.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
10. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification will be an added advantage.
