Staff Accountant - Zachary Piper LLC

Piper Health & Sciences is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a rapidly growing biotechnology company in the Gaithersburg, MD area.

Responsibilities for the Staff Accountant include:

·       Review financial statements for accuracy and compliance with GAAP guidelines.

·       Enter and review Accounts Payable (A/P) and/or Accounts Receivable (A/R) statements for accuracy.

·       Maintain general ledger and prepare monthly journal entries.

·       Assist with audit preparation by preparing documentation and reports, as needed.

·       Analyze cost and revenue to identify areas for cost reduction/effectiveness.

Requirements for the Staff Accountant include:

·       3+ years of accounting and/or finance experience, preferably within the public sector.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, particularly experience with VLOOKUP and/or pivot tables.

·       Strong understanding of US tax regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

·       Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or similar field is required.

Compensation for the Staff Accountant includes:

·       Salary range: approximately $80,000 - $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience
