Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant manages day-to-day accounting activities related to business operations. This position also performs basic accounting and financial reporting functions, such as: general ledger entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The Staff Accountant also assists in month end close.

Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform basic accounting functions, such as: general ledger entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Assists the accounting team in the day-to-day operations of accounting and finance in a fast-paced start-up healthcare environment
- Performs bank reconciliations and assists in month end close and fixed assets tracking
- Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
- Performs basic data analysis to report recent and historical financial performance
- Performs regular analysis of business outcomes vs prior period actuals and budget
- Assists in the planning and implementation of various business processes in order to improve and support business processes and activities
Qualifications
COMPETENCIES
- Proficiency with standard office software applications (Outlook, Microsoft Office ®)
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with General Ledger (GL) /Accounting software (experience with Sage Intacct is a plus)
- Strong problem-solving skills, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to use technology to collect, manipulate data, determine significant findings, and present information clearly
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects while maintaining accountability under strict deadlines
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors Degree (required) with a concentration in Accounting or Finance (preferred)
