Overview:We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and supporting various accounting functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled accounting professional to contribute to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger by recording financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner. Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process vendor invoices, verify expenses, and ensure timely payments. Generate and send invoices to clients, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on overdue payments.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. Gather relevant financial data, analyze variances, and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Prepare ad hoc reports and presentations for management review.
- Fixed Assets Management: Maintain fixed asset records, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal. Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Month-End and Year-End Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliation of accounts.
- Audit Support: Prepare audit schedules and assist with internal and external audits. Provide documentation and support for audit inquiries.
- Tax Compliance: Assist with tax preparation and compliance, including sales tax, property tax, and corporate income tax. Ensure timely filing and adherence to tax regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency. Implement best practices to optimize workflow and internal controls.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification or progress toward CPA preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial principles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
