Our construction client in Framingham is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant (Construction) to join our team in Framingham, MA. This role involves maintaining financial records, ensuring accurate financial transactions, and supporting the Division Controller in overseeing the financial, administrative, and accounting operations for both domestic and international activities. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to long-term and short-term strategic planning while collaborating with Corporate Treasury and Division stakeholders.
Reporting Structure:
Reports directly to the Division Controller.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing detailed financial reports, including complex balance sheets, income statements, and other reports for both U.S. entities and foreign branches on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Support the monthly WIP (Work-In-Progress) revenue recognition process.
- Conduct monthly reviews and reconciliations of General Ledger accounts. Prepare and post various accounting entries, such as accounts receivable, recurring journal entries, depreciation, cash transfers, accruals, reclassifications, and petty cash account reconciliations for both domestic and international accounts.
- Coordinate and prepare state and country-specific tax filings with guidance from foreign tax experts.
- Compile and/or review weekly, monthly, and quarterly cash reports for Corporate Treasury.
- Set up new jobs, cost codes, and budgets while providing ad hoc reporting and analysis for Operations and Estimating teams as needed.
- Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Contribute to the preparation of annual budget forecasts and quarterly revised forecasts.
- Collaborate with the Division Controller on developing long-term and short-term business plans.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Division Controller or Senior Management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- This is a 100% onsite role based in Framingham, MA.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
- Minimum of two years' experience in construction accounting is preferred.
- Solid understanding of construction accounting principles, auditing, payroll, and invoicing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
