Overview:
Our client, a dynamic and rapidly growing woman-owned public accounting firm, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing a wide range of accounting services to our diverse client base, including individuals and businesses. Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Services:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records for clients, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
Support clients with day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.
Tax Preparation & Compliance:
Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and non-profit organizations.
Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
Ensure all tax filings are completed accurately and submitted on time.
Audit & Assurance:
Participate in audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
Perform substantive testing and analytical procedures to verify financial information.
Assist in the preparation of audit workpapers and documentation.
Client Interaction:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing excellent customer service and support.
Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary financial information and respond to inquiries.
Assist in identifying client needs and offering additional services that can benefit their financial health.
Professional Development:
Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities offered by the firm.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA candidate or intention to pursue CPA licensure preferred.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in public accounting or a related field.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP).
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel) and tax preparation software.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
