Staff Accountant - Job Summary:
Our client, a manufacturing firm, is looking for a skilled Staff Accountant; and PrideStaff Financial has been requested to assist in recruiting one. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in manufacturing to oversee the financial processes and general accounting operations.
As the Staff Accountant, you will ensure compliance with financial regulations, prepare reports and statements, and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenses. Additionally, you will keep accurate records of income and expenses to ensure precise financial reporting.

Staff Accountant - Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
- Maintains the general ledger.
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
- Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
- Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform an annual audit.
- Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Coordinates with software vendors to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
- Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related field
- 4-5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device preferred)
- Strong Understanding of GAAP
- Strong understanding of AP and banking processes
- Previous ERP experience
- Proficient in MS Office, specifically advanced functions in Excel; knowledge of Sales Logic/Sales Force a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and must be highly organized.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are a must
- Need a team player, who is collaborative with a positive attitude.
- Must have an understanding of FP&A knowledge.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 Per Year
