Responsibilities include:
- Ensure Accurate Financial Reporting: Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process by posting standard and non-recurring journal entries, and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Analyze Contribution Margin: Prepare, analyze, and report contribution margin by customer and product to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify Key Variances: Identify, understand, and explain variances by customer, product, and department, and recommend corrective actions.
- Improve Cost Accounting System: Identify areas for improvement in the cost accounting system to ensure accurate cost data and support cost control efforts.
- Support Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing: Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve variances and adjust Bill of Materials and process routings as necessary.
What you need to succeed:
- 3-4 Years Accounting Experience: Solid background in accounting with a focus on manufacturing operations, general ledger, inventory and cost accounting, and financial analysis.
- Understanding of US GAAP: Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as it applies to manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on Experience with ERP Systems: Proficiency in using integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, interpret results, and make recommendations to support decision-making.
- Advanced Excel Skills: Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and graphing.
