Staff Accountant

As they continue to grow, they are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team.
Position Overview: The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including but not limited to accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, month-end close processes, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, verifying expenses, and preparing payments.
- Handle accounts receivable tasks, such as invoicing customers, monitoring aging reports, and following up on outstanding balances.
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Assist in maintaining the general ledger by posting journal entries and reconciling accounts.
- Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and supporting schedules.
- Assist with financial reporting tasks, including preparing financial statements and variance analysis.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and streamline processes.
- Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and standards, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and guidelines.
- Perform other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.
