Job Description: Children of America is seeking a motivated and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have multi-site experience, and be responsible for all daily accounting tasks, including updating expense files. You will perform financial transactions and post them in the general ledger, with strong attention to detail. You will also carry out relevant administrative duties (e.g., responding to clients via email with regards to accounting matters). Ultimately, you will ensure the company's finances are correct.
Who Would you Interact with? In this role, you will have daily interactions with the Accounting Management Team.
Job Requirements to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience with primary responsibility for accounting in the areas of A/P and GL entry
- Must have multi-site experience of 15 or more entities.
- Experience working with vendors and employees.
- Knowledge of accounting practices and principles
- Knowledge of state and federal laws relating to key areas of responsibility
What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
- Reconcile bank accounts; assure expenditures are in accordance with code balances for item acquisition; reconcile A/R in ProCare to MAS
- Inform supervisor of the balances of internal accounts.
- Interact with field management to ensure compliance with deposit processes and reconciliations, NSF checks and follow-up.
- Enter data, type, handle phone calls and incoming mail; maintain files.
- May be called upon to prepare correspondence and reports
- Provide analysis of accounts as requested by CFO or Management Team
- Ensure that all accounting activities operate consistently and ethically within the values and mission of Children of America
