Key Responsibilities:
Monthly Accounting Operations:
- Manage monthly accounting cycles for multiple clubs, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Collaborate with General Managers and Club Accountants to validate financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Record and reconcile monthly activity, such as inventory adjustments, cost of goods sold, prepaids, and accrual entries.
- Complete reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts and prepare detailed bank account reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve outstanding bank items and variances.
- Maintain accurate membership data, including onboarding new members, processing resignations, and updating member profiles.
- Reconcile data within the Membership Dashboard to ensure accurate reporting of member counts, dues, and initiation fees.
- Assist in forecasting member refunds in alignment with club policies and bylaws.
- Prepare and submit sales and use tax returns in partnership with the Tax Director.
- Support budget development for annual operating and capital expenditures alongside site leaders and corporate teams.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and control procedures.
- Assist in preparing schedules for external audits.
- Work closely with the senior accountant and other team members to foster communication and efficiency.
- Contribute to ongoing projects, including new system implementations and process enhancements.
- Participate in cross-functional discussions to ensure alignment on financial goals and processes.
- Support accounts receivable processes by reviewing aging reports and assisting with collections or escalations.
- Join weekly calls to discuss asset management and club performance.
- Perform other related tasks as needed, potentially including duties outside the scope of accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 1–3 years of experience preferred.
- CPA credential is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Excel (advanced features) and familiarity with Word; experience with Great Plains Dynamics, FYIsoft, or Anaplan is a plus.
- Background in multi-entity accounting, private clubs, hospitality, or property management is highly desirable.
- Solid understanding of GAAP principles and their practical application.
- High level of attention to detail while maintaining a strategic perspective.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Self-motivated and accountable with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
- A positive and professional demeanor with a focus on customer service.
- Must be willing to work overtime as necessary to meet deadlines.
