Essential Functions:
- Financial Review/Month-End Close Process
- Review Monthly draft financials with GM/Club Accountants to verify completeness and accuracy of Balance Sheet and Income Statement
- Ensure all month end journal entries for all subsystems (Payroll, AP, and Fixed Assets) are recorded
- Reviewing and recording all monthly inventory, prepaid, and accrual journal entries
- Reconcile and make adjustments to all balance sheet accounts
- Timely and accurate bank account reconciliations to include research and recording of any reconciling items
- Analytical review of balance sheet and documenting month end income statement variances
- Communicate pertinent financial information to club GM and corporate management
- Participate in weekly assets calls with corporate and club management
- Membership
- Review membership data, including new member setup, resignation, and change of member information with related Club Accountant
- Reconcile and maintain accuracy of the Membership Dashboard which is our primary data source for all Member Count, Member Dues, and Initiation Fee detail with related Club Accountant
- Understand club bylaws in order to assist in calculation and forecasting of member refunds
- Other
- Review weekly AR Aging from Club Accountant to assist in resolution of collections and/or sending to 3rd party for collections
- Identify and recommend changes to company policies, procedures, and internal controls as necessary
- Prepare audit schedules as needed
- Prepare monthly sales and use tax returns
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management
- Maintain compliance with company and standard internal control procedures
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 4-year accounting degree required
- 1-3 years accounting experience preferred
- Experience preparing financial statements and month-end close cycle preferred
- Experience with fixed assets and capital lease accounting a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products, with advanced knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint preferred
- Great Plains Dynamics/eEnterprise, FRx reporting, Anaplan, and InvoiceWorks (AP Platform) a plus
- Hospitality or property management experience a plus
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Builds strong relationships and works well with a team
