Staff Accountant at Partnership Employment

Overview
Partnership Employment has partnered with a well known company in the non-profit industry and we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant on a contract basis (3 -4 months). The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This position requires strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles, making it essential for candidates to have experience in bank reconciliation, account analysis, and financial report writing. This role offers a hybrid schedule with 2 days in office and 3 days remote.

Duties

• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Conduct balance sheet and cash reconciliations and prepare necessary adjustments.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare prepaids reconciliation and book monthly amortization entry
• Analyze accounts and prepare detailed reports for management review.
• Annually prepare the fixed asset recon and book deprecation entry
• Collaborate with private equity teams to provide necessary financial insights.
• Utilize accounting software such as Sage for various accounting functions.
• Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring clarity and accuracy in presentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
• Proven experience in accounting roles with a strong understanding of debits and credits.
• Familiarity with bank reconciliation processes and balance sheet analysis.
• Knowledge of GAAP standards and SOX compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct or similar accounting software is desirable.
• Familiarity with Salesforce CRM a plus
• Intermediate MS Excel Skills (VLOOKUP's & pivot tables)
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written communication skills for effective financial report writing.
