We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Permanent Staff Accountant to join our engineering team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, innovative environment where you will play a vital role in financial management and decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various aspects of accounting, with a focus on financial reporting, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, and manufacturing experience (preferred).
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to provide accurate and timely financial information to management.
2. Maintain and reconcile the general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
3. Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and payments are made and received in a timely manner.
4. Implement cost accounting practices, including tracking, analyzing, and reporting on costs associated with production.
5. Participate in the manufacturing process, understanding and accounting for costs at each stage.
6. Utilize Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, charts, and other visual representations of financial data.
7. Assist with budget preparation and financial planning processes.
8. Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
9. Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial operations and improve financial performance.
10. Participate in financial audits and implement audit recommendations.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. (This position is on the promotion track for Assistant Controller)
2. 2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the engineering or manufacturing industry.
3. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, and manufacturing.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and data visualization.
5. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
7. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Knowledge of applicable accounting software and databases.
9. Understanding of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
10. CPA or CMA certification preferred, but not required.
