Staff Accountant
Location: Virginia
Reports To: Director of Finance/Accounting
Position Purpose
The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the administration of daily financial departmental functions. This position assists the accounting department with the auditing of cash transactions as well as the tracking and reporting of other assets with the organization. This position reports to the Director of Finance/Accounting and has no direct reports. The Staff Accountant will assist with the development and implementation of accounting, policy and procedures that will enhance the corporate image and ensure a growth oriented and smooth-running profitable organization.
Main Responsibilities
In addition to following DC Burger Inc's policies and procedures, principal accountabilities are, but are not limited to:
- Give support with parent company Circle Pizza LLC accounting department
- Assist department in research and preparation for audits, financial projects, and taxes.
- Support field operations in reviewing financial reports, researching and explaining variances from budget.
- Report on daily bank activity to include checks that were received, cash deposited, and provide cash reporting on all cash and credit card transactions.
- Generate AP invoices per direction of the Director of Finance
- Manage and provide corporate credit card analysis and First Data reporting.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all field personnel, vendors, and consumers.
- Identify areas to improve current accounting systems and policies and provide recommendations for implementation.
- Performs other duties and analysis as required by the Director of Finance
- Support field operations in reviewing financial reports, researching and explaining variances from budget.
- Provide ad-hoc reporting from RSI Web, day part sales and product tracking, LTO performance, and budgeted sales.
- Report significant accounting discrepancies or financial irregularities to the Director of Finance/Accounting, Operations VP and to the Owner.
Position Specifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and 2-3 years related experience.
- Strong Excel skills.
- UKG, Paylocity and Workday Experience is a plus
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in multi-unit restaurant/hospitality/retail preferred.
- Good character and strong ethics.
- Must be energetic and work well in an independent remote environment.
