Our company is seeking a diligent, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our financial team in the construction industry. Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries and bank reconciliation.
2. Conduct a monthly reconciliation of every bank account.
3. Complete end of fiscal year closing process, and effectively communicate financial results to management.
4. Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
5. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
6. Review and process expense reports and receipts submitted by employees in an accurate and timely manner.
7. Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
8. Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance.
9. Ensure compliance with all internal processes.
10. Prepare budget forecasts and monitor them meticulously.
11. Perform project cost forecasts/budgets, cost tracking, monitoring and controls.
12. Perform month-end client invoicing, prepare contract drafts and amendments.
13. Maintain orderly accounting filing system.
14. Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.-
3. Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles.
4. Proficiency with accounting software, QuickBooks, and other related financial systems.
5. Excellent computer skills; experience in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite.
6. Experience with project accounting in the construction industry is a plus.
7. Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. High attention to detail and accuracy.
10. Ability to direct and supervise.
11. Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
12. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
13. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions based on accurate analyses.
