Position Title: Staff Accountant
Location: Boca Raton, FL
Reports To: Controller
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant who will play a key role in our month-end closing processes, perform general ledger reconciliations, and provide in-depth analyses of balance sheets and income statements. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a flexible communication style, a commitment to continuous improvement, and a strong analytical mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute monthly financial close procedures, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Review and record cash-related activities, encompassing cash receipts application, journal entries, reconciliations, and tracking.
- Manage monthly accruals, prepaid expenses amortization, fixed asset depreciation, and adjusting/reclassification journal entries.
- Conduct monthly P&L analysis and accrue expenses as necessary.
- Review and verify the accuracy of general ledger activities and ensure proper financial statement representation.
- Support multi-state sales tax audits and other necessary audit processes, including financial, bank, and inventory audits.
- Generate and distribute reports to management as required.
- Engage in various ad-hoc projects to support the accounting department's goals.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Experience: 2-4 years of accounting experience, ideally in a D2C retail environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Experience with NetSuite preferred.
- Self-motivated with a desire for accuracy, efficiency, and an eagerness to understand complex operations.
