Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
Process vendor invoices and employee reimbursements with accuracy and timeliness.
Reconcile AP transactions and resolve discrepancies with vendors.
Cash Disbursements:
Manage cash disbursement processes, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
Prepare and process payment batches, including checks, ACH, and wire transfers.
Grants Accounting:
Perform basic grants accounting functions, including tracking expenditures and reconciling grant-related accounts.
Assist with preparing financial reports for grant compliance.
Journal Entries:
Prepare and post journal entries for monthly and year-end closings.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure proper documentation.
Other Duties:
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Assist in audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
2 to 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit or grant-funded organizations.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and MS Excel.
Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with grants management and fund accounting.
Familiarity with compliance requirements for nonprofit organizations.
