The position:
As a staff accountant, you will be responsible for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash applications for newly acquired businesses, month-end close procedures, and various staff accountant responsibilities. This position is on-site in our Benicia, CA office. This role is full-time and the pay range is between $30 - $34 per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Accounts Payable processes, ensuring timely payments and vendor communication for newly acquired businesses.
- Handle Accounts Receivable tasks, including invoicing, cash applications, and reconciliation of customer accounts for newly acquired businesses.
- Accurately perform daily reconciliations of cash, check, and credit card transactions.
- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
- Complete month-end close activities, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and support reporting requirements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient accounting procedures.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Analytical mind with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of AP, AR, and month-end close processes.
- Advanced competency in accounting software packages and Microsoft Excel. A plus, if you have worked with the following software: QuickBooks Online, Expensify, McLeod (TMS), or Camelot.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues and external partners.
