Staff Accountant
Position Summary:
Position Summary:
- Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant is responsible for performing day-to-day operational accounting duties, including but not limited to preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Prepare month end journal entries timely and accurately
- Reconcile accounts and prepare financial reports
- Collaborate with key business partners to research and resolve issues
- Identify opportunities and implement solutions for process improvements
- Document key process and procedures
- Effectively and professionally interact with all functions within the company
- Assist in internal and external audits
- Ad-hoc projects or other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2-3 years’ GL accounting experience in a similar position
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting rules and practices
- Strong Excel Skills including proficiency in pivot tables, lookups, and ability to manipulate data
- Strong attention to detail and ability to trace general ledger entries back to sub ledger systems
- Ability to research variances independently and effectively explain findings
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work overtime during month end close and year end
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, works well with people from different background and with different styles
- Distribution Company experience
- AS400 or Mincron ERP experience
