Our company is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Staff Accountant/Auditor to join our dynamic finance team. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our financial health. As a Staff Accountant/Auditor, you will be responsible for preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a challenging and rewarding environment and is eager to make a significant impact on our company's financial operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare financial statements and reports to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
2. Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
3. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
4. Coordinate with the tax department to ensure accurate and timely tax return preparation.
5. Assist with audit preparations and respond to auditor requests for support documentation.
6. Analyze financial reports for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the CFO's attention.
7. Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
8. Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
9. Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
3. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
5. Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks or Sage.
6. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
7. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
8. Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
12. Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
13. Demonstrated ability to improve processes and increase efficiency.
