Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
2. Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
3. Prepare monthly financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
4. Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring transactions are recorded in accordance with US GAAP.
5. Analyze and review budgets and expenditures for local, state, federal, and private funding, contracts, and grants.
6. Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
7. Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices, and other accounting documents.
8. Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control.
9. Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors, and clients.
10. Resolve accounting discrepancies.
11. Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company's automated financial systems.
12. Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. 3+ years of experience in accounting or related field.
3. Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and QuickBooks.
4. Strong understanding of accounting theory and GAAP.
5. High proficiency in financial reporting, including balance sheets, income and cash flow statements.
6. Experience in the construction industry is preferred.
7. Experience with Intercompany transactions and WIP accounting.
8. Highly detail-oriented and organized.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus.
10. Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
