Responsibilities:
As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for:
1. Managing all aspects of day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes including but not limited to: A/P, A/R, payroll, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
2. Compiling and analyzing financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
3. Performing intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
4. Managing the Work in Progress (WIP) schedule.
5. Assisting in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.
6. Ensuring compliance with all internal processes.
7. Utilizing Quickbooks to manage financial transactions and create financial reports.
8. Collaborating with the financial team to improve and streamline procedures and workflows.
9. Participating in the preparation for the annual audit.
10. Assisting in tax preparation and filing activities.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in accounting or related field, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly strong in Excel.
4. Knowledge of intercompany transactions and journal entries.
5. Experience with Work in Progress (WIP) reporting.
6. Strong understanding of GAAP.
7. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
8. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
