POSITION SUMMARY
HomeWAV is looking for a Staff Accountant to add to our growing team. This position will require a professional with a solid accounting background, strong computer software skills, excellent communication skills, and someone that is organized and detail oriented. As an integral member of the Accounting Department, this position will oversee the accounts payable (AP) process by analyzing information, maintaining complete and accurate records, assisting with routine accounting duties, and providing prompt, courteous responses to inquiries or complaints from clients, vendors, and internal customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversees the daily activities related to the AP functions of the organization.
· Focuses on processing invoices in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures. Invoices processed will be from vendors, expenses, and revenue share payments.
· Maintaining accurate and complete records including ledgers, journals, invoices, and receipts.
· Assisting in daily, monthly, and annual activities including generating financial reports, assisting with audits, and resolving discrepancies.
· Communicating with vendors and suppliers to ensure charges are accurate and that payments are received in a timely manner.
· Communicating with clients to discuss account statuses, charges, or discrepancies.
· Participating in ongoing education opportunities to gain experience about industry trends and developments, current financial legislation, and company policies and procedures.
· Managing the invoice approval process.
· Reconciling payments for accounts including taxes and credit cards.
· Understanding compliance issues around the accounts payable process (W-9 files, COI, etc.).
· Reconciling vendor accounts and statements for discrepancies.
· Managing month-end close.
· Applies advanced logic and critical thinking to assess and solve complex issues.
· Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

· Work status/location: Full-time employee/Flex Hybrid (HomeWAV Headquarters and Remote).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
The ideal candidate works well under pressure and adapts well in an ever-changing, purpose-driven environment.
· Understanding of accounting principles and current financial legislation.
· Strong understanding of managing payables.
· Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make any necessary decisions to move projects ahead or discern when to escalate them to management.
· Exceptional time management, communication, and critical thinking skills.
· Strong ability to work efficiently while also ensuring that accuracy and attention to detail are maintained.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
· Understanding of all Microsoft platforms.
· Strong computer skills with knowledge of bookkeeping software.
· Organized and detail oriented.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
· Two (2) years of general accounting experience is required.
· Three (3) to five (5) years of AP experience required.
· QuickBooks Online accounting software experience preferred.
· Knowledge of the accounts payable process and best practices.
· Knowledge of general accounting procedures.
· Knowledge of relevant computer applications.
