Position: Associate Director of Nursing
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Pay Rate: $74/hr
Schedule: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
Responsibilities:
-Participates in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for resident care.
-Interprets departmental and institutional policies and procedures to staff, residents, families, and the community.
-Collaborates with the Director of Nursing to assess staffing needs and formulates staff schedules.
-Collects, analyzes, and presents statistical data as required.
-Assists in budget planning and preparation; monitors cost of supplies and utilization of staff.
-Coordinates activities related to resident care services between nursing and other disciplines.
-Conducts investigations, related to suspected resident abuse, misconduct, neglect, and resident care problems and presents findings to the Director of Nursing.
-Assumes leadership role in Performance Improvement program in the facility.
-Reviews the 24-hour nursing report to determine the effectiveness of nursing interventions and to identify resident care issues.
-Makes rounds regularly to ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures and to assess the quality of resident care.
-Conducts periodic rounds with Director of Nursing or members of Administrative staff to appraise selected units or overall function of department.
-Works closely with Staff Education Department to assess staff learning needs and plans programs to meet those needs.
-Acts as a clinical resource in interdisciplinary team meetings.
-Evaluates, annually and as needed, performance of Nurse Managers and Administrative Nursing Care Coordinators.
-Assists in the recruitment and retention of nursing panel.
-Meets weekly with Nurse Managers and Administrative Nursing Care Coordinators to address concerns regarding resident care/services, staffing issues, and labor management.
-Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
-Attends conferences and meetings to maintain current knowledge of long-term care issues.
-Assists the Director of Nursing in preparation of NYSDOH survey.
-In an emergency, performs other duties necessary for the welfare of the residents or the efficient operation of the facility.
Skills:
-Three years of progressive experience in Nursing Administration.
-Documented competence in caring for persons with AIDS.
-Knowledge of MDS required
- MUST HAVE WOUND CARE KNOWLEDGEOR A CERTIFICATE, LTC AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS
