Arcosa Wind Towers is seeking a SrWelding Engineer to support the wind towers' operation. In this role, you will provide the plant with welding and technical support, such as training, welding process troubleshooting, and welding process improvement. The Sr. Welding Engineer will oversee welding processes and apply working knowledge of industry welding codes and specifications. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Welding Engineering for the Business Unit.

What you’ll do:
- Enhance and develop the plant welding program with direction from the Senior Manager of Welding Engineering
- Troubleshoot routine welding technique and equipment issues
- Assist with; Qualifying, writing, and maintaining welding procedure specifications in compliance with applicable codes and specifications
- Evaluate, propose, and implement welding process improvements to increase welding efficiency and quality
- Provide technical assistance on welding during customer and third-party audits
- Participate in internal welding audits/other duties as required
- Other duties as assigned
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in welding engineering or engineering technology with relevant welding experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing and project management
- Preferred AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), or capable of achieving within one year
- Advanced knowledge of FCAW, SAW, and GMAW welding processes with hands-on proficiency
- Working knowledge of AWS D1.1 procedure and performance qualification
- Proficient in using various visual weld inspection tools
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Capable hands-on and classroom trainer
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position
- Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas, and plant grounds which operate 3 shifts and frequent weekend shifts
- This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the regular hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
- Ability to tolerate high and low temperatures, and loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
