Job Description:
- Perform diagnostic sonograms to demonstrate anatomy and pathology for interpretation.
- Obtain appropriate patient clinical information from requesting physician and/or service prior to performing exam.
- Prepare patient for imaging.
- Prepare room and equipment prior to imaging and after completion of exam.
- Demonstrate appropriate self-critique of exams to include ability to recognize sub-optimal techniques and equipment malfunctions.
- Meet physical requirements to perform all aspects of diagnostic sonography studies in the inpatient as well as outpatient settings, including but not limited to: performing portable exams, transferring and transporting gurney and wheelchair
- Maintain RDMS credential(s) according to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's criteria.
- Graduate of a formal accredited ultrasound training program in an approved school
- Must have flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays and on-call shifts. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all Medical Center locations and variable shifts per department needs.
- Requires ARDMS credentials in Abdomen and OB/Gyn specialties at minimum.
- BLS - Basic Life Support.
- Requires (2-5) years' experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, and or equivalent experience in a similar Ultrasound department. OR New hires who meet criteria of equivalent experience and credentials held must also have equivalent Senior Sonographer skills; the Senior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer title may be granted at the discretion of the Section Chief and Section Supervisor.
- Maintain ARDMS credential(s) according to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's criteria.
- Require ARDMS in Abdominal and OB/GYN Sonography.
- Requires previous ultrasound experience
- BLS Certification
- Graduated from a CAHEEP accredited ultrasound program
- Requires (2-5) years experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, and or equivalent exp
- Flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts and coverage for weekends and holidays.
- 5+ to 7 years experience
- Hospital, pediatrics experience
- Ultrasound in areas: OB exp, thyroid, transplant and kidney liver, pancreas, sterile procedures.
- Team player, motivated, leadership, communication, adaptable.
