Sr. Technical Product Manager , Satellite Outdoor Units - Amazon

Description Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity. As a Senior Product Manager - Tech on the Project Kuiper team you will help create and drive the product strategy, vision, and roadmap of products and services, with a high degree of ownership over critical features and the customer experience. This role is inherently cross-functional - you will work closely with engineering, design, operations, finance, and executive teams to envision, develop, and launch innovative products and services. A successful candidate will be both creative and highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into products and applications that customers love. As a Sr. Product Manager - Tech, you will assume end-to-end product ownership over technical products to deliver services to our customers. Key job responsibilities -Manage the entire product line life cycle from inception to launch -Understand and articulate customer needs, conduct on-going customer research, leverage internal knowledge and expertise, and prioritize feature requirements -Understand and synthesize wired and wireless technologies to define leading edge products for our customers -Be a passionate advocate for the customer; provide the voice of the customer -Inspire the team with the product vision, and work cross-functionally to bring the product to life -Write detailed product requirements documents and define use cases, features, and KPIs and drive tradeoff discussions and decisions with the development teams -Create the business case. About the team You will be joining a team that is focused on defining and driving the product requirements for all of the customer facing hardware, software and systems for Project Kuiper. The customer terminals are critical customer facing devices. Our north star goal is to deploy products and services that customers love on Day 1 of their service; a lofty goal for most broadband service providers, but one that we can achieve by innovating from scratch and by collaborating with other Amazon teams. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Redmond, WA, USA Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical work experience plus an MBA or 4+ years demonstrated business leadership experience - 5+ years of experience in product management, systems engineering, IC design or applications engineering - 3+ years of experience developing or managing complex wireless devices for satellite broadband, 5G fixed or mobile wireless products. - 3+ years experience developing or managing the embedded software stack for wireless devices, including OTA updates - 2+ years of experience with end-to-end product delivery - 2+ years of experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition - 2+ years of experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs for a complex product - 2+ years of experience managing products through the entire life cycle - from inception to launch Preferred Qualifications - 2+ years of experience as lead software or systems architect for wireless communications devices - In-depth knowledge and working experience with device networking software stack and call flows including related protocols for cell acquisition, RACH, RRC, registration, and data session establishment Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
