We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic individual for the role of Permanent Sr. Tax Manager with a specialization in Upstream Oil and Gas. This role is within our Finance team and is an integral part of our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our tax compliance, planning, and strategy. This role requires a strong background in tax compliance and a deep understanding of the upstream oil and gas industry. The individual will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment and will play a crucial role in the financial success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage the entire tax process for the upstream oil and gas operations, including planning, compliance, and reporting.
2. Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
3. Collaborate with the finance team to analyze and understand the financial implications of various business decisions and transactions.
4. Lead and manage tax audits and inquiries by tax authorities, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
5. Stay updated with the latest tax laws and regulations, especially those pertaining to the upstream oil and gas industry, and advise management on the tax impact of various corporate strategies.
6. Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax laws.
7. Provide guidance and support to junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree in Taxation or a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax compliance, preferably within the upstream oil and gas industry.
3. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, particularly those applicable to the upstream oil and gas industry.
4. Proven experience in managing tax audits and inquiries by tax authorities.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make well-judged decisions.
6. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
8. Proficiency in using tax software and other financial management tools.
