Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
2. Conduct tax research and planning to optimize tax strategies and minimize tax liabilities.
3. Provide tax advisory services to the management team, offering recommendations on tax implications of business decisions.
4. Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and proper recording of tax-related transactions.
5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations, and inform the team of any significant changes that could impact the company's tax position.
6. Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors, handling any tax-related inquiries or audits.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of internal tax policies and procedures to improve efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of three years of experience in tax accounting or a related field, preferably in the finance industry.
3. Proficient in tax preparation, tax research, and tax planning.
4. Solid understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret tax laws and regulations and apply them to complex business scenarios.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
7. Proficient in tax software and accounting systems.
8. Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and project management skills.
9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
10. High level of integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
