About the Job
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our dynamic team. The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing tax compliance, overseeing clients, coordinating with employees, and handling various tax projects across different industries. The successful candidate must have a current CPA license, a solid understanding of accounting and financial statement concepts, and previous experience in a CPA firm and/or family office setting.
Professional Responsibilities:
Expertise Development:
Obtain specialized expertise in a specific area while maintaining a general understanding of all taxation areas.
Consult with clients on tax and broader business issues.
Client Advocacy:
Understand client goals and objectives and actively pursue tax and business solutions as a client advocate.
Manage client contacts and facilitate communication with complex clients.
Tax Return Preparation:
Independently prepare complex tax returns with minimal supervision.
Complete a comprehensive analysis and investigation of client needs before representing the client to the Internal Revenue Service.
Supervision and Training:
Supervise and train tax seniors, staff, and interns to ensure accurate and timely completion of tax work.
Process and review moderately complex tax returns.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Participate in department and firm administration.
Assist in niche development activities as needed.
Promote a proprietary interest in the firm and clients.
Communication and Teamwork:
Be an effective communicator and team player.
Define self-expectations through the performance process and assist in the development of senior and staff expectations.
Project and Budget Management:
Effectively manage hours associated with project and client budgets.
Continuous Learning:
Maintain and expand knowledge of tax law through periodical reviews and participation in required firm continuing education meetings.
Attend and actively participate in advanced tax training.
Professional Engagement:
Participate in professional, business, and community organizations to advance the profession.
Qualifications:
Current CPA license is mandatory.
Bachelor's degree in accounting with a strong grasp of accounting and financial statement concepts.
Previous experience in a CPA firm and/or family office.
In-depth knowledge and experience with tax return concepts for Individuals, S Corporations, C Corporations, LLC's, Partnerships.
Experience with tax audits and review, and responding to notices.
Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve issues (tax and financial) and perform research.
Strong software skills, including proficiency in Excel and experience with CCH ProSystem.
Ability to interact and effectively manage communication with clients (written, verbal, and in person).
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $ 70,000.00 90,000.00 Per Year
