Job Details
As a Senior Tax Accountant, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Prepare and review complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local, state, federal, and international tax laws and regulations.
2. Provide tax advisory services to management, offering strategic and innovative solutions to tax-related issues.
3. Conduct thorough tax audits and present findings and recommendations to senior management.
4. Manage 1031 Exchanges and other real estate tax matters, ensuring maximum tax advantages.
5. Stay abreast of changes in tax law and regulations and communicate potential impact to the organization.
6. Assist in financial reporting, ensuring that tax considerations are appropriately reflected.
7. Develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives to minimize tax liabilities and optimize efficiencies.
8. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, providing expert tax guidance as needed.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Senior Tax Accountant role should possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a tax accountant role within public accounting
3. Comprehensive knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance, and all related systems and procedures.
4. Proficiency in 1031 Exchanges, real estate tax, corporate tax, international tax, and tax law.
5. Proven experience in tax preparation, tax returns, tax planning, and tax audits.
6. Familiarity with financial reporting and its intersection with tax considerations.
7. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret tax laws and regulations and apply them in practice.
8. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to non-tax professionals.
9. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
10. High level of integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
