Job DescriptionWe are formulating and implementing a unified strategic vision for Operations & Infrastructure (O&I) to establish Visa as the premier, data-driven payments company globally. We seek a leader with a proven history of managing teams, scaling vital programs, and cultivating robust partnerships with product and customer service leadership.
As a Sr. Systems Engineer, you will be leading complex cross-regional and cross-functional product operations initiatives within Visa’s Operations & Infrastructure (O&I) team. You will work closely with all Visa teams to transform customer data and feedback into improvements, aligning business goals with audit compliance and developer priorities as a member of the Developer Experience team. The successful candidate will define success for the crucial Release Management tool and identify key integration points within the Software Development Lifecycle to ensure the ongoing support and operation of services that Visa provides.
Essential Functions
Contribute to the development of the overall product strategy, product roadmap, and business plan for release management
Provide strategic direction and a vision for release management at Visa to support successful code deployments and ensure world-class operations
Implement and enforce governance standards within release management
Actively prioritize product backlog and participate in release/sprint planning activities
Formulate requirements for product and participate in acceptance testing
Participate and sign-off in product releases and ensure product features are well understood and implemented as requested
Provide program and project management support for major platform, product, and tool-driven change initiatives
Develop expert knowledge on the features and business applications of our products
Gather and implement user feedback and recommendations to improve our partnerships and bolster developer experience
Proactively review user trends to make recommendations for improvement of current processes, policies, and tools
Partake in audit activities to ensure our product is meeting the standard of both internal and external audit teams
Partner with application teams to identify and implement automation opportunities
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications
• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• Experience with release management concepts and best practices
• Experience with core ServiceNow modules (Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, Release Management, CMDB)
• Familiarity with ITSM best practices to deliver quality services
• Experience designing and producing meaningful reports and dashboards including basic knowledge or experience using PowerBI
• Understanding of product and process management concepts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills paired with unwavering attention to detail
• Self-motivated and quick to learn new skills and operational processes
• Ability to thrive in a cross-functional setting and communicate effectively with different teams at Visa
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to extensively analyze business processes and workflow
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and SharePoint
• Ability to write scripts/programs to automate tasks is a plus
• Experience using a release orchestration toolset is a plus
Additional Information
Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 100,000.00 to 141,250.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
