SUMMARY: Responsible for implementing the company quality system and policy in support of internal and external customer requirements. Responsible for the logistics of the company's products, from the planning of their purchase to their shipment to the customer. Ensures that company has the supplies and materials they need to operate smoothly, and ship finished products to customers. Duties include developing and implementing procurement policies, overseeing shipping and warehouse activity, controlling supply chains and transportation processes. Travel globally to various vendors throughout the US, Latin America, and Asia when required. Candidate can reside either near Rancho Dominguez, CA, Buffalo, NY or Erie, PA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
· Participate in maintaining a Compliant Quality System.
· Responsible for complying with the company’s Environmental Policy Manual, applicable work instructions and reporting any environmental nonconformance and/or potential nonconformance to supervision or management.
- Responsible to locate and qualify new suppliers
- Handle and manage supplier quality related technical issues from specifications
- Develop, implement, and operate supplier QA program to ensure product quality at all stages of product development, including design, manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and testing
- Identify supplier quality deficiencies. Consult with project team members and suppliers on the causes of problems in product quality
- Review and approve pending supplier documentation before release, i.e. drawings, test reports
- Ensure that the issues raised by suppliers are addressed in a timely manner
- Prepare and conduct supplier audits
- Analyze test data to determine strengths and weaknesses of current product quality for supplier components
- Analyze test data to identify the root cause of problems
- Review in house and supplier audit reports and action plans
- Coordinate with manufacturer/suppliers on improvement actions to control quality problems
- Identify possible improvements in material handling operations
· Preparing, routing, and managing purchase orders.
· Reviewing shipment materials before distribution.
· Collaborating with transportation systems to ensure prompt shipment pick-ups.
· Monitoring shipment costs and productivity processes.
· Overseeing and coordinating daily logistics operations.
· Managing inventory.
· Planning, coordinating, and overseeing the movement of goods.
· Working with various team members to ensure timely and safe delivery.
· Using IT systems to manage stock levels and process shipments.
· Assisting others with logistics-related information.
· Supervision of direct or indirect warehouse employees.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bilingual (Spanish/ English). Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, international business, business administration, commerce, economics, or logistics. At least three years of experience in a similar role. It is necessary to have proven abilities to exercise good judgment, organize work, and motivate team members. A working knowledge of ERP, material systems, and ISO standards. Microsoft Office: specific areas would include strong skills in Excel and Word.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Good interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge in the use and interpretation of various precision measuring instruments and gauging including but not limited to:
- calipers
- optical comparators
- micrometers
- height gages
- force gages
- electronic measuring equipment
- specialized lab equipment
