Senior Structural/Thermal Analyst
Contract 40 hours weekly 6-12+ months

Job Description Summary:
Client is seeking a senior hardware structural and thermal structural analysis engineer to drive the design and development of novel solutions to customer driven problems surrounding ruggedized miniature electro-mechanical systems, systems for harsh environments (e.g. high-g, high temperature, high vibration), and Robotics and autonomous systems. This role will support developing cutting-edge technologies for missions critical to national interests.
Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
• Execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate the performance, functionality, and durability of hardware products.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of hardware products to ensure compliance with specifications, requirements and quality standards.
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of hardware defects and implement preventive measures for malfunctions to minimize future occurrences.
• Contribute to requirements development, propose ways forward, and adapt appropriately to changes in requirements.
• Perform analytical modeling and finite element analysis of complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Able to provide insight and suggest design modifications based on analysis outcomes, and to apply analysis techniques across a range of technical disciplines.
• Identify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies for them.
• Actively mentor less experienced engineers and provide thoughtful, constructive feedback.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Collaborate and communicate effectively and openly with multi-disciplinary program team members, program leadership, and non-technical personnel.

• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
Education
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field. Master's Degree preferred
Experience
Requires 5-7 years of Engineering experience with Bachelor's Degree. 3-5 years of Engineering experience with Master's Degree
