Sr. Structural Engineer - MS Technology, Inc.

The Structural Engineer will be responsible for providing designs, analyses, and consulting for a variety of building and non-building structures supporting DOE/NNSA and commercial nuclear projects and missions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and coordinate structural engineering and multi-disciplined team/design projects while engaged in the planning, design, and construction phases of engineering projects. (Senior Level)
• Prepare and review of calculations, drawings, and specifications relating to seismic and wind analyses, foundation design, structural framing analyses and design, and bracing analyses and design.
• Perform analysis utilizing hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate structures.
• Conduct construction document reviews as required.
• Perform facility walkdowns as required.
• Coordinate and iterate design efforts with other engineering disciplines and customer stakeholders.
• Perform all work under quality assurance requirements, which conform to the company Quality Assurance Program and/or regulatory requirements from other U.S. government agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education / Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
• 5 years of design or field experience.
• 2 years of experience with structural analysis hand calculations, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software. (i.e. STAAD)
• 2 years of experience in specification preparation, construction document preparation, and related phases of engineering.
• Familiarity with computer aided drafting applications is required.
• Experience in renovating/modifying existing facilities is a plus.
• Experience in DOE/NNSA or commercial nuclear industries is a plus.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and to maintain US security clearance is preferred.
