Responsibilities
**General Purpose:**
The Sr. Strategic Planner and Grant Writer provides strategic leadership, and operational and high-level project management for the Eastman Institute for Oral Health (EIOH) Executive Office, helping to coordinate and advance the strategic initiatives of the EIOH Director and Chief Operating Officer. Manages, leads and guides work of broad scope and complexity, including end-to-end project management of medium to large projects across the Institute. Writes and submits grant proposals to support EIOH’s strategic priorities. Performs necessary strategic analysis to define and frame complex institution-wide business issues, and develops proposed solutions and recommendations to support executive-level decision-making. This position’s scope includes all EIOH divisions, encompassing patient care, research and education.

**Responsbilities:**
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Convene and facilitate inter-professional groups to develop compelling, realistic strategic plans across EIOH’s three mission areas. Oversee the direction, coordination, implementation, control and completion of EIOH projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments and goals of the organization. As assigned by the Chief Operating Officer, lead the planning and development of all forthcoming EIOH special project plans and facilitate their execution, identifying project risks and appropriate mitigations and ensuring that budgets are monitored, that progress is tracked, and that timelines are kept.
PROJECT COMMUNICATION: Facilitate the alignment of key stakeholders of various leadership levels across the enterprise in defining a common understanding of the goals and objectives to be executed for each project. Work with a high level of autonomy on complex projects. Facilitate project meetings using effective meeting techniques for objectives, agendas, participants, and meeting minutes. Develop/maintain reporting dashboards suitable for Sr. Leadership to communicate project status. Conduct post-project lessons learned sessions to identify successful project elements and areas for future improvement.
PROJECT INITIATION: Determine scope of the problem/project, through collaboration with the executive project sponsor, key clinical users, and system and application analysts. Gather input from team members on required tasks and translates into a project plan with activities, dependencies, dates and timeframes, resource requirements, milestones and deliverables.
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT: Keeps current with business and strategic goals. Attend webinars, reads case studies and white papers, and participates in other free or low-cost opportunities to further refine skills and stay apprised on project management topics. Builds and maintains internal departmental relationships. Meets established deadlines, and motivates project team members to do the same. Maintains flexibility and professionalism while managing competing priorities.
GRANT WRITING: Identifies, defines and develops funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as well as lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to federal, state, and private funding agencies. Generates high-quality proposals, narratives, applications and supporting documents in response to solicitations.
CONTENT CREATION: Creates online newsletters as needed, assuring content is well-targeted to readership, well-written and engaging, and that newsletter is consistently delivered at pre-determined intervals.
INTEGRATED MARKETING SUPPORT: Assists the Director and COO in developing strategic plans, goals and objectives. Serves as the primary liaison with UR Marketing to ensure timely execution of marketing programs, campaign deliverables, objectives and timelines.
GENERAL: Makes presentations to staff on project-related issues. Serves on committees and attends meetings as requested. Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree
+ Three to five years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years at managerial level; or a combination of education and experience. Experience in healthcare or academia is highly desirable.
+ Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals; Extensive computer literacy; Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal), presentation, analytical and problem solving skills; Detail-oriented with a proven ability to manage projects.
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

**Pay Range**
Pay Range: $84,7000 - $127,100 Annual
_The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations._
