This Job requires the candidate to be on-site 50% of the time in the Washington DC office. Other office locations will be considered, also with the 50% on-site requirement.
As the Senior Staffing specialist - Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of the external recruiting processes are completed timey and accurately. This includes:
- Accept applications and document priority consideration to candidates, i.e., career transition assistance program and reassignment priority eligibles. Document candidates’ eligibility for veterans’ preference. Determine non-competitive eligibility of candidates and refer as appropriate.
- Assess applicants and determine and/or verify minimum qualification requirements for all candidates. Minimum qualifications are determined by closely reviewing the candidates’ supporting documentation (i.e., resumes and/or transcripts) and verifying that the candidates possess the minimum level of education and/or experience in accordance with OPM qualification standards. Review documentation and adjudicate veterans’ preference prior to assignment of preference on the final referral list in accordance with OPM’s veteran regulations. Conduct adjudication of applications following automatic qualification by USAJobs to narrow pool. Provide technical guidance to selecting officials on how to conduct an interview.
- Issue Certificates and the certificates of eligible/qualified candidates and ensure it does not require corrections. Send the approved certificates of qualified and eligible candidates for merit promotion, direct hire, excepted service, competitive and/or non-competitive certificates and referral lists electronically in accordance with IRS’s merit promotion requirements and DEU requirements. Documenting a returned certificate Once the selecting official signs and returns the certificate, you shall ensure that the case file is documented to reflect the action taken on each of the eligibles that were certified for selection and pertinent documents are uploaded to the case file.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited academic institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- DEU Certification required.
- 5 years as a supervisor or manager that includes 3 years in a position that exercised operational control over a DEU and other operations.
- 3 years of experience working at the journeyman level within a Federal DEU within the past 5 years.
- Possesses an OPM certification or notification that the individual meets the required OPM DE training requirements.
- Active Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification or 5 years of experience relating to Project/Program management.
